Outline of Membership Fee Reduction and Exemption

Approved by the Board of Directors on 12.6.2024

(Purpose)
1. the necessary procedures for reduction or exemption of membership fees for regular members, student members and supporting members who are damaged by natural disasters such as earthquakes, tsunamis and typhoons, or other emergencies in accordance with Article 2, Paragraph 4 of the Enforcement Bylaws of the Articles of Incorporation of the Japanese Society of Nursing Science (hereinafter referred to as "the Society") shall be established.

(Subject)
In principle, regular members, student members, or supporting members who have been affected by a disaster designated as a catastrophic disaster and who fall under any of the following categories, and who apply for membership within one year of the date of the disaster, shall be eligible.
(1) If you have suffered damage to your home as a result of the disaster
(2) When the employee leaves his/her employment due to the closure of his/her workplace as a result of the disaster
(3) Other cases where it can be judged that the damage is equivalent to items 1 and 2.
(4) When a person dependent on a regular member or student member falls under Item 1 or Item 2.

(Dues to be reduced or exempted)
The membership fee for the fiscal year in which the application is made (hereinafter referred to as "the fiscal year in question") shall be the membership fee subject to reduction or exemption.
However, if the membership fee for the fiscal year in question has already been paid, the membership fee for the following year shall be subject to reduction or exemption.
 2 Upon receipt of an application from a member who has not paid the membership fee, the membership fee for the fiscal year in question shall be reduced or exempted after confirming the payment of the unpaid membership fee.

(How to apply)
4. Fill in the application form (Form 1) exclusively for the program and submit it together with a certificate of disaster or various certificates (copies acceptable) issued by the municipal office, Hello Work, or other public institution.
 2 Applications shall be submitted to the office of the Society and shall be submitted by one of the following methods
(1) By mail

(Review and Decision)
The Board of Directors shall review and make a decision when an application is submitted.
 2 The Society shall notify the applicant when a dues reduction or exemption has been approved.

(Alteration, etc.)
Amendments to this outline shall be made by resolution of the Board of Directors.
 2 This outline must be made widely available to the membership.

This arrangement is effective April 1, 2018.
