Application for Admission
The purpose of the Society is to promote the development of nursing science and the exchange of knowledge widely, thereby contributing to the health and welfare of people. Aiming at the development of nursing science, the Society promotes interdisciplinary research with a wide range of fields, including medicine, engineering, and the humanities, and welcomes membership from those who wish to collaborate with nursing. *Student memberships are available from January 2025.

Notes for Student Members
- A copy of your student ID must be uploaded at the time of application for membership.
- Referral from a member is also a requirement for membership application.
The membership number, name, and e-mail address of the person you are referring must be entered at the time of application for membership.
Please confirm your membership number with your referrer in advance.
- The term of your student membership will expire at the end of the academic year within the number of years specified below. When the student expiration date approaches, we will confirm your withdrawal or transfer to full membership. The membership will not be automatically renewed. You cannot change your membership classification in the middle of the fiscal year. Please note that the transfer of membership classification will take place at the time of the fiscal year changeover.
*You can continue as a student member if you declare an extension of your educational period.
However, you will be required to submit your student ID or proof of extension.
(1) Undergraduate: 4 years
(2) Master's and Master's degree: 2 years
(3) Graduate Ph.D./doctoral program: 3 years
(4) Schools equivalent to these: Depends on each (e.g. College of technology: 5 years, College of technology major: 2 years)
Steps to enrollment

Admission Year and Date of Admission
Admission year
The fiscal year of the Society runs from April 1 to March 31 of the following year.
If dues are paid during that time, the membership will be registered as a current year membership.
Membership cannot be retroactive to a prior fiscal year.
Admission Date
The date of admission is the date the annual membership fee is deposited into the Society's account. It takes a few days to confirm the payment after the transfer is received.
For those who plan to submit an abstract for the Japan Academy of Nursing Science Conference
- Membership as a regular member is required. *Student members are not eligible to present.
- If you have already submitted or plan to submit an abstract for the annual meeting to be held in the year of admission, please check the "I plan to submit an abstract" box on the membership application form. (If possible, please enter the abstract number.)
- For membership verification, please make sure that your affiliation on the abstract submission form and the affiliation on the membership application form are the same.
- You can submit an abstract if you are still in the process of applying for membership. Please apply for membership as soon as possible.
- Since the time of the Board meeting is limited, be sure toPlease complete the membership application before the abstract submission deadline.

For more information on our achievements, please refer to the Annual Meetings of the Society.General AbstractIf submitted, Article 5.4 of the Membership Criteria "However, if an abstract submitted to the Society's annual meeting is accepted, this presentation will be counted as one presentation." is applied. In this case, the following is the process from admission to membership to presentation of your abstract.
*In some cases, the order of (2) and (3) may change depending on the time of year.
*Not applicable to non-general abstracts (e.g., exchange meetings, etc.).
(1) Apply for membership from the Society's website (see below) and submit an abstract from the meeting website by the abstract submission deadline.
*Please be sure to complete the membership application within the first abstract submission period, without waiting for the acceptance of your abstract.
(2) Decision of "Approval of admission by acceptance of abstract" by the Society's Board of Directors
Notification of acceptance of abstracts from (3) Scientific Meetings
(4) Those whose abstracts are accepted and whose membership is approved will be notified of their membership account by the Society.

(5) Admission to membership after confirmation of payment of membership fee at the Society (with notification)
⑥Register for the meeting as a regular member and pay the registration fee through the meeting website.
