October 7, 2015
Japan Academy of Nursing Science
President Mami Kayama
At the 34th Annual Meeting of the Japanese Society of Nursing Science, after the presentation of an abstract, its registrant submitted an application for withdrawal of the abstract on the grounds that the abstract was from a previous workplace, but permission from the previous workplace had not been obtained.
After careful deliberation, the Board of Directors has decided to take the following actions against the presenters and to remind all members to take preventive measures against recurrence.
record
1. correspondence to presenters of abstracts
(1) Since the abstract in question had already been published in the Proceedings, it was placed on the "Withdrawal List" on the website of the 34th Annual Meeting.
(2) Removed from the database of the Central Journal of Medicine Publication.
1. future recurrence prevention measures (Board approved September 20, 2015)
(1) When publishing research results, even after approval by the Research Ethics Review Committee, etc., great care must be taken to ensure that changes in matters related to the research (changes in affiliation, replacement of co-researchers, etc.) will not be pointed out as violating ethics as a researcher, etc.
(2) Members should actively attend e-learning seminars and other programs on research misconduct prevention. (Representative programs offered by public organizations will be posted on the website in the future.)
