Rules for Election of Candidates for Board of Directors
Article 1.
These Rules and Regulations shall prescribe the matters necessary for the election of candidates for the Board of Directors of the Japanese Society of Nursing Science (hereinafter referred to as "the Society").
Article 2.
The Election Administration Committee (hereinafter referred to as the "Committee"), as stipulated in Article 2 of the Rules and Regulations for the Election of Delegates of the Society, shall be responsible for the election of candidates for the Board of Directors.
Article 3.
Candidates for the Board of Directors shall be elected by mutual vote among the Delegates.
Article 4.
The date of the election shall be determined by the Committee and publicly announced to the delegates.
Article 5.
Five candidates for the Board of Directors shall be elected by secret ballot per delegate.
Article 6.
One candidate for Auditor shall be elected by secret ballot per delegate.
Article 7.
The committee will open the ballot.
Article 8.
(3) Witnesses shall be present when the votes are counted.
2. The Election Committee shall select one witness from among the non-delegate regular members.
Article 9.
In the case of ballots cast by ballot, the ballots shall be opened as to those postmarked and received by the Commission by the date of publication.
Article 10.
Regardless of the method of voting, the following ballots shall be considered invalid
(1) Votes cast for persons who are not eligible for election
(2) Any other violation of the election rules.
2 In the case of voting by ballot, the following ballots shall be considered invalid
(1) Ballots and envelopes that do not use the official ballots and envelopes
(2) Outer envelope without name
(3) Items arriving after the voting deadline
Article 11.
The candidates for director and auditor shall be elected in the order of those receiving the majority of valid votes in the election of candidates for officers.
2 Those receiving a tie number of valid votes shall be decided by a drawing conducted by the Election Committee.
3. The number of votes cast shall be divided equally for votes cast for persons with the same name who are indistinguishable by affiliation or other means.
4 Those who are elected as candidates for both Directors and Auditors shall be elected as candidates for the higher number of votes, and those who receive the same number of votes for both Directors and Auditors shall be elected as candidates for Directors.
5 When the person elected is determined, the Committee shall notify the person elected and obtain his/her consent.
6 In the event that a selected candidate withdraws from the competition, the next highest ranked candidate shall be moved up in order.
Article 12.
The committee submits the slate of elected officers to the Board of Directors.
Article 13.
The Board of Directors shall prepare a proposal for the election of officers and runners-up with reference to the slate of candidates submitted by the Committee, and shall not be precluded from submitting to the General Meeting of Members a proposal for the election of officers with the following contents
(1) Not to adopt all or part of the persons elected under the preceding article in the proposed election of officers
(2) To include in the proposed election of officers persons who have not been elected in accordance with the preceding article.
Article 14.
Amendments to these Rules and Regulations shall be made by resolution of the Board of Directors.

These Rules and Regulations shall come into effect on January 1, 2010.
