A code of ethics is a code of ethics that should be autonomous and self-disciplinedprofessionIt is a guideline for the profession by the profession that establishes standards of ethical conduct essential to the profession, expresses them to society, and requires its members to adhere to them. The Code of Ethics and other moral guidelines contain three elements: values, duties, and virtues. They are the values that are the purpose of professional practice, the moral obligations of the profession in engaging in the profession, and the virtues, or good character, expected of the profession.
As for the code of ethics for nurses, the International Code of Ethics (sometimes translated as the Code) for Nurses was initiated by the International Council of Nurses (ICN) in 1923, and the "International Moral Code of Nursing" was adopted in 1953. After several revisions, the preamble now lists standards of conduct and utilization in four basic areas: nurses and people, nurses and practice, nurses and nursing professionals, and nurses and collaborators. In 1988, the Japan Nurses Association established a "Code of Ethics for Nurses" consisting of 10 articles, which was revised in 2003, 15 years later, as the "Code of Ethics for Nurses," expanded to 15 articles. This "Code of Ethics for Nurses" clearly states to society the scope of responsibilities assumed by nurses as professionals,Nursing PracticeIt is a guideline for action in the development of the company's business and recommends that it be used as a basis for reflecting on practice.
