Behavior change is a learning theory, cognitive behavioral therapy,hygiene practicesIt is a methodology that aims to guide desirable behaviors and modify inappropriate behaviors based on theories derived from psychological principles and experimental findings, such as models. It takes a concrete and objective view of the behavior to be modified and the target behavior, identifies the factors that influence the behavior, and works on these behaviors and factors in order to obtain the desired behavior. Behavior change involves working on the factors that precede the behavior (antecedent stimuli) and those that accompany the behavior (reinforcing stimuli), and methods of working on these factors and methods of working on behavior change as a stage are discussed.
One important nursing aid is working to bring about changes in behavior. Therefore,nursing postare working to increase motivation to change behavior, providing information about the consequences of desirable or inappropriate behavior, teaching specific behaviors and skills, and introducing role models. Alternatively,familyand friends, and assurances from health professionals to reinforce the desired behavior. In doing so, however, the most important thing is to be willing to consider the values associated with the behavior from the other person's perspective and in light of the situation in which the person is placed, and to support the person in gaining a sense of self-efficacy and control so that he or she can change the behavior with confidence.
