Definition of Terms
Harmony is a state in which a person, when faced with a threatening situation or loss of sense of control in life, feels comfortable by expanding his or her frame of reference, creating a self rhythm, and merging with the self and environment in the new situation, while being influenced by the self and the environment surrounding the self.

Explanation of Terms
Harmony is a concept found in the unique cultures of the East and the West. In Japan, Prince Shotoku of Japan defined harmony as "wa (harmony)," and in his "Seventeen-Article Constitution," he proposed that "harmony is the noblest of all virtues.
Harmony (Okanishi and Fujita, 2020) is "the expansion of one's frame, the creation of self-rhythm, the self andenvironmentIt has four attributes: "fusion with, and comfort with". Expansion of one's frame of reference" represents transforming one's thoughts and values, finding meaning to the situation, and thinking in a positive direction, without being bound by the situation in which one finds oneself. Creation of Self-Rhythm" means to find a way to cope with new situations by finding a way that suits one's present self while maintaining one's existing identity as a foundation in order to lead an unshakable life in new situations. Fusion of self and environment" represents the state of recognizing the new self as the one who has integrated the new situation into oneself and is coping with it well. Comfort" is a state of feeling calm, content, and healed in body and mind in response to the situation.
Harmony is characterized by the interaction of self, others, and the environment, which includes the person's inner power, the existence of a person who supports the person and the environment surrounding the person, and its meaning is not only a state but also a process.
People try to find meaning in the new situations they face in life, such as difficulties and suffering, and transform their thoughts and values for the better. They also try to find stability by finding ways to be the person they are today, while cherishing their old self in the new situation. In the process, they recognize that they are integrated into the new situation and have a sense of comfort, which is healing. Harmony leads to the power to live, health, and growth,nursingneeds to play a role in facilitating this state of affairs.
