Reprint Permission

Reprint Permission

The copyright of the Journal of the Japan Academy of Nursing Science, published by the Japan Academy of Nursing Science, belongs to the Japan Academy of Nursing Science. When using articles and other materials published in these publications, you must apply for permission to reproduce them. The concept of permission for reprinting differs depending on whether full-text or partial publication is allowed.

For full text reproduction

  • For publication in the institutional repository, please refer to the "How to apply" at the bottom of the page and submit an application form. If approved, you will be allowed to reprint the PDF files published in J-STAGE.
  • In principle, reprints of PDF files on J-STAGE are not permitted on SNS for researchers such as Researchgate, or on websites managed by laboratories or authors. However, final drafts of papers (e.g., WORD files or PDF files) are permitted. In such cases, please clearly indicate the source.
  • You may link to J-STAGE or provide a DOI (Digital Object Identifier), which can be downloaded from J-STAGE by the viewer.
  • Reprint permission must also be obtained for secondary use of the publication (electronic publication, translation publication, etc.).
  • Under the previous rule, full-text reprints of articles had to be submitted one year after the article was published in the journal. However, now it is possible to reprint articles after publication in the journal.

For partial listing

  • You must submit a request for reprint permission, and if approved, partial reprints will be permitted.
  • Please indicate the source of the information when you use it.

How to apply

Please apply according to the following procedures.
If your institution has a designated form, please use it.

  • Reprint permission request (PDF) (WORD)

Please fill out the permission form and send it to the JSME office by mail or e-mail (attached). We will confirm whether or not the article can be reprinted, and if so, we will issue a letter of permission.

If the reprinted material is not generally known, please provide a specific description or URL.

For institutional repositories, the name of the person in charge must be indicated, so please use the application form below. Institutions wishing to register should follow the procedures below.

  1. The publication of the journal or other papers after the date of publication will be permitted.
  2. Please indicate the source of the information when you publish it.
  3. Copyrights to all non-publication formats will remain the property of the Japan Academy of Nursing Science.

Please fill out the application and permission form and send it to the JSME office by mail or e-mail (attached). The Japanese Journal Editorial Board will confirm whether the paper is eligible for registration and issue a permission form if it is. The applying institution should obtain the manuscript of the paper or other materials from the author(s) of the approved paper or materials and register it in the repository.
