Bioethics, which emerged in the United States in the 1970s, began as a movement to construct a new ethics and as a kind of systematic academic development, as the meaning of life began to waver due to the development of biotechnology. Based on this bioethics, the "Four Principles of Medical Ethics"-"do no harm," "do good," "do justice," and "respect autonomy"-were proposed as ethical principles to guide specific actions when ethical conflicts arise in clinical situations in medicine.
In the early 1980s, a new ethics, the ethics of care, which focused on interdependence and vulnerability, emerged in the field of ethics and had a profound impact on the field of health care, especially nursing, which has continued to practice care. Also,nursing postIt has been argued that ethics of care is useful for nursing ethics because the ethical issues encountered by nurses and nurses are different from those of physicians. Currently, the International Council of Nurses has developed a Code of Ethics for ICN Nurses (2005) and the Japanese Nurses Association has developed a Code of Ethics for Nurses (2003),nursing postresponsibilities and duties,nursingstandards for ethical conduct, such as respect for and confidentiality of the people who are the subjects of the
